Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology

The department of plant biology and plant biotechnologyhad its beginning in the year 1973. It was established as PG department in the year 2012. The department has a a full time faculty and 11 guest lecturers. The department caters to the knowledge thrust of the students by offering UG and PG courses. The department library is a store house of knowledge with rare books and journals. The students are encouraged to make use of the library for their research and examination purposes. Laboratories  with latest equipment helps in training the the students to meet the latest technology.   The department has also got its own wifi connection to service the needs of the student and staff.

The staff and students of the department have been participating in various research activities. The staff have published papers in peer reviewed journals and have participated in seminars of repute.

• To give very good learning experience and lab technical skills to apply conventional as well as non-conventional tools to understand plant process, development of human resource with hands on experience in the frontier areas of Plant Sciences.
• To equip the students, Conserve and sustain utilization of Plant diversity with innovative research and learning through modern technology.
