A Computer Literacy Programme was initiated by the Government of Tamilnadu in all Government Colleges to enrich all undergraduate – Non-Computer Science students from the year 2000-2001.
LNGC has a separate lab with 25 computers and other necessary equipment for this certificate course.
Classes are generally conducted once a week that spans during the period of October to September of every year. Contents of the course are crafted to cater the need of rural youngsters and make them employment ready. The course includes

Around 75% of the students of this course have benefitted in their employment opportunities within last five years.
