About the department
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry was started in the year 1975 offering Under Graduate course. The Post Graduate course was started in the year 2012 and M.Phil. Program was started in the year 2017 catering to the needs of students. The department has grown in tune with the demands of the Institution and has improved its strength. Department consists of 12 regular faculty members (with 10 Doctorates) and 3 Guest Lecturers.
The faculty members have presented / published Research papers in National / International Conferences and Journals. The department has been equipped with a well stocked library and has its own Wi-Fi connection for the benefit of the students and staff. The Department has established a Research laboratory for M.Phil. Students for their research work.

- To render ourselves more accountable to our people, our learners, the state government, UGC and MHRD.
- To design our own curriculum which is locale-specific and need-based. To be constantly on our toes to tirelessly alter syllabi and produce competent graduates for job placement and the nation.
- To create an effective evaluation mechanism to focus on yearlong assessments

- To upgrade the department of chemistry as one with greater knowledge and competence.
- To give a boost to the quality of graduates, we send out through continuous assessment and evaluation and thus augment our human resources.
